Synopsis:

Frail since childhood, Min-a has spent most of her life in a hospital bed. Only in high school is she finally well enough to attend classes, but still unused to the world, she remains a loner and always wears a mitten to hide a congenital deformity of her left hand. What keeps her from feeling alone is her mother, Mi-sook, whom she calls by her first name and treats like a best friend. Then one day Young-jae, a handsome but slightly goofy photographer, walks into their quiet lives.

Min-a retreats into her shell like a shy turtle, but Young-jae keeps coming back, and after she lends him her treasured lighter the two slowly grow closer while sharing an umbrella, taking photos and riding the bus together. Min-a starts to dream of seeing the sea turtle from a photo on Young-jae's wall swimming in the blue waters of Hawaii. Then she finds something in her mother's diary that suggests she may not have long to live, and she resolves to fill the time she has left with happiness, collecting it frame by frame through Young-jae's camera.
