Synopsis:

London, 3 September 1939, the day Britain declares war on Germany. Colonel Roy Cronin (Robert Taylor), on his way to Waterloo station, stops on Waterloo Bridge and takes a small good-luck charm from his pocket. He remembers the First World War, when, as a young captain, he met Myra Lester (Vivien Leigh), a young ballet dancer, on the same bridge during an air raid. They fell in love and decided to marry before he left for the front, but Roy was suddenly called back to his regiment, and Myra, who missed a performance to see him off, was dismissed from the ballet company. Directed by Mervyn LeRoy.
