Synopsis:

Seattle. The brothers Frank (Beau Bridges) and Jack Baker (Jeff Bridges) have played a two-piano lounge act in hotels and bars for fifteen years. Frank, the older brother, is cheerful and practical and takes care of the business, while Jack, the more talented musician, is cynical and indifferent to everything except his music. When their act no longer attracts audiences, they decide to hire a female singer, and Susie Diamond (Michelle Pfeiffer), a former escort with a sultry voice, joins them. Their show becomes a hit, but as time goes on, an attraction grows between the fiery Susie and the cool Jack, and Frank is uneasy, and tensions threaten to break up the act. Written and directed by Steve Kloves, with Pfeiffer's famous performance of Makin' Whoopee on top of a piano, and music by Dave Grusin.
