Synopsis:
Hollywood, 1927. Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) are the most popular romantic couple of the silent screen, though in private Don cannot stand the vain Lina. When the first talking picture becomes a huge success, their studio decides to turn their new film into a talkie. But Lina has a terrible, shrill voice, and the preview is a disaster. Don, his best friend Cosmo Brown (Donald O'Connor) and Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds), a young singer Don has fallen in love with, come up with an idea to save the film: turn it into a musical. Directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen.
