Synopsis:

A kingdom where humans live alongside elves, ogres and giants. At her birth, Ella (Anne Hathaway) was given a "gift" of obedience by the foolish fairy Lucinda, so she must obey any order anyone gives her. When her mother dies, her father remarries, and her two new stepsisters, Hattie and Olive, discover her secret and use it to torment her. Ella sets off on a quest to find Lucinda and have the curse lifted, and on the way she meets the handsome Prince Charmont (Hugh Dancy), who is about to be crowned. Meanwhile, the prince's wicked uncle Edgar (Cary Elwes), who has persecuted the elves and giants while ruling as regent, plans to keep the throne for himself. A fantasy comedy directed by Tommy O'Haver, with Joanna Lumley and Minnie Driver.
